Digital Technologies

Digital technologies are changing the way our Achievers learn, the way our teachers teach, and where and how learning takes place. We have a large number of mobile devices (ipads, chrome books, laptops & video cameras) in each Learning Environment which equip our Achievers to take charge of their own learning in a context where learning occurs anywhere, anytime and with anyone

Digital technologies excite and engage our teachers, students, their whanau and our communities in learning where we are trying to create Achievers that are confident, connected, life long learners who will contribute positively to our school community, their local and national community and of course to the global stage!

At Te Puke Primary each Achiever has their own Google Account where they are able to access their learning anytime, anywhere and with anyone. Each Learning Environment also has a Google Site that is set up for the teachers, students and Parents / Whanau to look at the week ahead, workshops on offer and timetabling, prior learning that could take place and follow up learning activities and communication that would reinforce and continue learning at home.

Crucial to this environment is learning that takes place around cybersafety and digital citizenship which is embedded in class programmes and workshops.

From Term 3, every Achiever at Te Puke Primary School will have the option to join the Hua Pai Maota (Te Puke Learning Networks) 1:1 lease to buy scheme where our goal is for every child to have an iPAD that can be used anywhere, at anytime and especially building the partnership with their whanau and family at home in this digital environment. Please come along to the workshops here at TPPS to find out more.
